Request Account Deletion

In the FootyBadger Android app, open Settings, choose Delete account, review the 30-day recovery notice, and confirm the request. You must be signed in so FootyBadger can authenticate the request.

If you cannot access the app, email support@footybadger.com from the address connected to your account and use the subject Delete My FootyBadger Account. Support may need to verify account ownership before acting.

Immediate Deactivation

Deletion is not immediate physical erasure. As soon as the in-app request succeeds, your account enters pending deletion. Active sessions are revoked, normal sign-in and product activity are blocked, and your profile and existing activity stop appearing in public, social, search, ranking, and calculation surfaces.

Your underlying account and activity data remains stored temporarily so an eligible account can be recovered during the next 30 days.

30-Day Recovery Window

For an email/password account, sign in with the same email address and password during the recovery window. FootyBadger will offer account recovery and send a short-lived verification code to the account email. Successful verification returns the account to active status and restores the retained profile and activity to normal use.

Accounts that use only Google or Facebook sign-in do not currently have a provider-native in-app recovery flow, and provider login will not silently reactivate a pending account. Consider this before confirming deletion and contact support if you need help.

Permanent Purge After 30 Days

If the account is not recovered, it becomes eligible for automatic permanent purge exactly 30 days after the recorded deletion request time. A production cleanup runs daily, so the purge occurs on the first successful cleanup run after eligibility.

The purge removes user-linked active-system data, including:

• Account, email, profile, home-place, and favourite-club information
• Password, authentication-provider links, provider identifiers, sessions, tokens, and one-time account codes
• Check-ins, attendance, visits, supporter/feed activity, and related history
• Precise location observations and check-in fraud/risk records
• Achievements, XP, badges, streaks, scores, ranking/progression state, and other user-linked derived data
• Server-held install identifiers and other user-linked security or operational records covered by the purge

Shared football catalogue data such as teams, fixtures, leagues, stadiums, and heritage locations is not personal to one user and is not deleted.

UUID Tombstone

After purge, FootyBadger retains only the account's random internal UUID in a separate one-column tombstone table. The tombstone contains no numeric user ID, email, name, profile, provider identity, check-in, location, progression, device, or other relationship. It does not function as an anonymised user profile.

Logs and Recovery Copies

Ordinary production application, request, and system logs expire after 30 days under the Cloud Logging retention policy. Google-managed control-plane audit logs may be retained for 400 days as a platform-fixed security exception; they describe administrative/system activity rather than your FootyBadger check-in history.

The production database project has a configured six-hour recovery-history window. Deleted information may remain recoverable within that window; it is not used for normal application processing and remains subject to deletion if that recovery data is restored. No project-configured snapshot, scheduled-snapshot, or retained-branch mechanism was identified during the September 3, 2026 inspection that intentionally extends recoverability beyond that window.

Google and Facebook Accounts

Permanent purge removes FootyBadger's stored provider link and provider identifier. It does not delete your Google or Facebook account or records retained independently by those providers. You can also manage or revoke FootyBadger's access through the provider's account settings.
